EquFisc project

EquFisc project

Our new partnership project is called EquFisc – Equal Steps with a Flying Disc, project Nº 101049874, supported under the European Union ERASMUS-SPORT-2021-SSCP program and hosted by the Croatian Flying Disc Federation, in Zagreb.

Mothers and daughters do not exercise as actively as boys in rural areas. As a result, the issue of gender inequality comes to the fore in rural areas and women don’t practice enough sport.

Using the Flying Disc as a main tool, EquFisc project aims to promote gender equality in sports and the participation of rural women in grassroots sports. Together with our partners, we want to explore and better understand the social and cultural barriers behind women’s low participation in sport in rural areas. We believe that we can demolish the perception among people that women cannot do sports by encouraging them to practice a mixed sport as Flying Disc.

All project partners and coordinators of this project have experience in working with women and special experience in the participation of women with low socioeconomic status. During this 18 months collaborative partnership we want to share best practices, counter the negative perceptions of women in sports and use this funny and accessible sport – Flying Disc – as a tool to promote gender equality.

Our partners are:

  • Spor Elçileri Derneği (SPELL) (Turkey)
  • Biržų lengvosios Atletikos sporto klubas (Lithuania) BLASK
  • ASOCIATIA AMA EVENTS (Romania)
