IRISES: International Roma Integration through Stakeholders Exchange of Succesful Practices

IRISES is a two-year project that aims to contribute to the protection of the rights of disadvantaged children, Roma and others, living in institutions or family homes, through the specific training of the operators of the structures and through the exchange of good practices. The project directly involved the children guests of the facilities, who will participate in the meetings and workshops provided by the project.

Over the two years, the project involved more than 70 operators and 700 children between the ages of 10 and 18. During the activities, training sessions were held on European citizenship, children’s rights, anti-discrimination and tolerance, using sport, art and games as a means of inclusion. The project also aimed to involve not only direct beneficiaries, workers and disadvantaged children, but also the entire citizenship that has been achieved through the media and informed about the importance of protecting children’s rights, residents of institutions or households. Thanks to the collaboration of all the citizens, these children will become autonomous and able to build a dignified future in society.
